About us

Riverstone Holdings Ltd (RHL) is a private company with majority New Zealand ownership established to take this project from a concept to a successful enterprise. Included in the plans will be opportunities for local investors to be involved. The RHL shareholders are established investors in the region, currently involved in several projects with a value in excess of $100 million each.

The majority shareholder in RHL is Infinity Investment Group Holdings Ltd, led by CEO Bob Robertson. He is also the CEO of RHL. Minority shares are held by Philip Phillips and Singaporean investment company, Waterfall Communications.

Infinity Investment Group, one of the largest property developers in the Lakes District, brings a long-term commitment to quality developments and sound environmental practices. Current projects include Albert Town Riverside Village, Peninsula Bay residential community, Hillend Resort, Marina Terrace five-star hotel and the 5,000 resident Pegasus, a new town near Christchurch. The Infinity Group is a founding member of ‘Sustainable Wanaka’, a group focusing on improving environmental sensitivities in strategic planning and management practices of local business, especially those in the tourism sector.

Bob Robertson is well known for his commitment to sustainable development and positive environmental outcomes. He was the major sponsor and one of the founding trustees of the Save The Waitaki Trust. As a result of his strong support for the Trust, he was a major contributor to saving the Waitaki. Infinity Investment Group is a business member of the Royal Forest and Bird Protection Society of NZ. Foveran Deer Park, affiliated to Infinity, recently won first place in the Deer Farmer Association Environmental Awards for Riparian Management.

Philip Phillips, the founder and originator of this monorail concept, has 22 years’ experience in the tourism and transport business arena and was formerly the Managing Director of the Mount Cook Group Ltd and the Chairman of Queenstown Airport for the Queenstown Lakes District Council.

John Beattie is a director of Riverstone Holdings and an executive director of Infinity Investment Group. He has been a Trustee of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) since 1988 and has a particular interest in mainland and island ecological restoration strategies. He is also Chair of Sustainable Wanaka.
